Those NZ dollar prices are what Anthropic’s pricing page shows a New Zealand visitor, checked 31 October 2026, where it says “Prices include 15% GST”. They are not a conversion. The only converted figure is Enterprise, at the European Central Bank reference rate for 30 October 2026 (US$1 = about NZ$1.77), before GST. On 1 November 2026 the same page, viewed from outside New Zealand, still listed Pro at US$20 a month (US$200 a year up front), Max at US$100, Ultra at US$200, Team standard at US$25 or US$20 a seat, premium at US$125 or US$100, and Enterprise at US$20 a seat a month billed yearly. Anthropic says prices can change, so check before you buy.

Anthropic shows New Zealand visitors NZD prices that include 15% GST for every plan except Enterprise, which is US$20 a seat a month converted here at the ECB rate. Usage limits apply on every plan.
What changed in Claude pricing in October 2026?
- Max 20x is now Ultra. Max is a single NZ$200 plan with 5x Pro usage. The NZ$400 tier is called Ultra: 10x Pro’s weekly usage and no 5-hour limit for verified accounts.
- Fable is on the paid plans. Max and Ultra include Fable, Anthropic’s top model, for up to half your weekly limit. On Pro it runs on usage credits.
- Max and Ultra include API credits to build on the Claude Platform: US$100 a month on Max and US$200 on Ultra.
- Team is priced in NZD. A standard seat is NZ$50 a month, or NZ$40 billed yearly, with GST included. A premium seat is NZ$250 or NZ$200.

How much is a Claude Team licence in NZ?
A standard Claude Team seat is NZ$50 a month billed monthly, or NZ$40 a month billed yearly, including GST - about NZ$43 or NZ$35 before GST. A premium seat, with 5x the usage of a standard seat, is NZ$250 or NZ$200. Team needs at least 2 seats and goes up to 150, and you can mix the two seat types and add seats mid-term. A five-person business on yearly standard seats pays NZ$200 a month including GST.
Does Anthropic charge GST in NZ?
Anthropic’s New Zealand prices include GST, and it says your billing address decides how tax is calculated. Under IRD’s rules for overseas suppliers of remote services, a supplier treats a NZ customer as not GST-registered unless the customer gives their GST number. So if your business is registered, enter your GST number in the tax ID field - Anthropic explains where in its help article on tax IDs, and there’s a separate one for Team plans. Adding it later only applies to future invoices. Ask your accountant how to code it in Xero - I’m an engineer, not a tax adviser.
Does Claude charge in NZ dollars?
Yes, for Pro, Max, Ultra and Team. A New Zealand account sees NZD prices, so there’s no exchange rate and no bank currency fee. Enterprise is still priced in US dollars (US$20 a seat a month, about NZ$35 before GST), plus usage at API rates, so that bill moves with the exchange rate.
What is the difference between Claude Pro and Claude Team?
Pro is a personal plan: one person, NZ$40 a month or NZ$400 a year, with model training on unless you opt out. Team is for 2 to 150 people: a standard seat is NZ$50 a month or NZ$40 billed yearly, with more usage than Pro, central billing, SSO, shared projects, admin controls for connectors and no model training on your content by default. If more than one person in the business uses Claude with client information, Team is the safer choice.
How does Claude pricing compare with ChatGPT and Grok?
At the entry level they’re close: Claude Pro and ChatGPT Plus are both NZ$40 a month, and Grok’s cheapest plan is less. The heavy-use tiers line up too - Claude Max and Ultra at NZ$200 and NZ$400, ChatGPT Pro from NZ$190, and Grok Super and Ultra at about NZ$230 and NZ$460 with GST.
