Little Taonga: six jobs running in Claude after one day
Little Taonga, a Kaikōura jewellery wholesaler and retailer, connected Claude to Shopify, Xero, Lightspeed, Google Ads and its inboxes in a one-day workshop, and went home with 279 products given new SEO, a wholesale invoice check running twice a day and four skills of its own.

- Client
- Little Taonga and the Jade Kiwi store
- Industry
- Jewellery: wholesale, retail and online
- Location
- Kaikōura
- What we did
- A full-day, on-site AI workshop build on their real systems
In numbers
- 279products given new SEO, every change logged and checked
- 1,512product image alt texts written into Shopify
- 2x dailywholesale orders checked against Xero
- 4 + 2skills and scheduled checks, built on the day
The short version
- Little Taonga keyed every wholesale order into Xero a second time, and handled supplier invoices, stock, payroll and five inboxes by hand.
- In one day on site we connected Claude to Shopify, Xero, Lightspeed, Google Ads and email, then ran six of their real jobs through it and saved each one as a skill.
- They left with 279 products given new SEO, a wholesale invoice check that runs twice a day and waits for approval, and a weekly supplier cost check.
The problem
Two brands, six systems, and every wholesale order typed twice
Little Taonga makes Māori-inspired jewellery, sold wholesale to gift stores and visitor centres across New Zealand, online, and through its own Jade Kiwi store in Kaikōura.
Shopify gets the GST wrong on wholesale orders, so every one was keyed again into Xero. Supplier invoices, stock, payroll and five inboxes were all handled by hand by Cezanne and Alex.
They were looking at a Claude course in Auckland or Queenstown when ChatGPT recommended us instead. They booked a full day without a call.

The solution
A day on their real work, not a demo
Cezanne and Alex drove up to Christchurch with their logins and a list of real jobs. Everything was built on their live systems.
- Learn
AI basics first
What Claude can and can't do, and how to brief it well.
- Connect
Into their systems
Shopify, Xero, Lightspeed, Google Ads, Drive and five inboxes.
- Run
On live jobs
Wholesale orders, store SEO, supplier invoices and a pay run.
- Hand over
Theirs to keep
Each job saved as a skill, on schedules that wait for approval.
Six jobs finished on the day
Store SEO
Only 7 of 437 products had SEO. 279 were rewritten, 21 descriptions fixed and 1,512 alt texts added, with macrons checked.
Wholesale invoicing
A month of wholesale orders and purchase orders checked against Xero. Gaps were found, and the check now runs twice a day.
Supplier costs
43 supplier costs matched by barcode and SKU and updated, with a revert log. It now runs every Monday.
Ad reporting
75-85% of the sales Google credited to ads were wholesale reorders. The true retail return was about 6x, not 36x.
Stock receiving
A supplier invoice read from email, prices checked and stock received. It caught a sync quietly resetting costs.
Payroll entry
Hours entered from timesheets. Next time it is a photo, and Claude stops for review before anything is finalised.
279 products got real SEO in an afternoon
Only 7 of 437 products had an SEO title and description. Claude wrote them for 279 products and added 1,512 image alt texts, with every change logged before it went into Shopify.
Māori words were checked for macrons, and anything touching te reo or pounamu provenance goes to Cezanne first.

Wholesale orders are now checked against Xero twice a day
At 8:53am and 2:53pm, Claude checks new wholesale orders against Xero. Where an invoice is missing, it drafts one modelled on that customer's past invoices, then waits.
- Order arrivesIn Shopify or by email, as it always has
- Claude checks Xero8:53am and 2:53pm
- Drafts a matchFrom that customer's past invoices
- Alex approves"Approve 1 and 3" - only then does Xero change

In their words
Alex and I spent a day with Blake from Harkness AI setting up Claude across our complicated business systems, and it was the best investment we've made!
Blake was amazing. He was patient, really knowledgeable and genuinely interested in how our business runs. Rather than just showing us features, he built everything around our real platforms. By the end of the day we had our website SEO, wholesale invoice checks and supplier pricing all running through Claude, plus payroll, emails, business branding, lightspeed and so much more!! All on working on our actual systems.
He made something that felt quite technical really easy to understand. We came away excited to use Claude every day to save time, human error and cut out the double/triple handling between our different platforms.
We highly recommend Harkness AI to any business wanting to simplify its systems, work smarter and get real, practical value from AI. Thank you Blake!
Cezanne LyonsDirector, Little TaongaThe result
It runs without us in the room, inside clear rules
- Four skills saved: store SEO, wholesale invoicing, stock receiving and payroll.
- Two scheduled checks, wholesale invoices twice a day and supplier costs every Monday, each alerting their phones when ready.
- A rulebook in Drive setting what Claude may change.
- Claude never changes a price, stock level, order or customer record on its own.
- Nothing goes into Xero until a person approves it.

What comes next: social media and wholesale ordering
Cezanne and Alex are using Claude every day and want to go further. The next session adds their social media and looks at the best way to run wholesale ordering, whether that is the current Shopify add-on or a different model.
Questions people ask
How long did it take?
One day on site in Christchurch, from 9am to 4:30pm on 2 October 2026. The first part covered AI basics, then the rest of the day was spent connecting Claude and running their real jobs through it.
What did the Little Taonga team have to do?
Bring their logins, their master product sheet and a list of real jobs. Cezanne and Alex did the work alongside us, so they know how each skill works and can extend it themselves.
Can Claude change prices or orders in Shopify or Xero?
Not on its own. A rulebook in their Drive sets what Claude may change. It never changes a price, stock level, order or customer record, and nothing goes into Xero until a person approves it.
How would we start something similar?
Book a full-day workshop build and bring your real work. We connect Claude to the systems you already use, run your repeat admin through it, and save each job as a skill you keep.
